Grampians Central West Waste & Resource Recovery Group will once again host the Can Do Communities pop up in the hall at the Buninyong Smarter Building & Living Expo.

In keeping with a theme of ‘Keeping it Local – in your home and in your community’, there will be demonstrations by Granny Skills guru, Rebecca Sullivan on a variety of easy to do, waste free activities for your home – from cleaners to preserves to re-use of textiles – Granny skills is all about making do with what we have.

Captain Compost will also be there to show people how to compost, look after their worm farm and start some seed saving in their garden.

Kerrie Tomkins will also be back this year to show how homemade soap is made along with some home grown herbal teas.

If everyone makes a small change then that adds up to a large change. There will be something that everyone can do in their home.

Doing something in your community can be helping or volunteering with boomerang bag groups, repair cafes, local food co-operatives or local litter clean ups.
